MINDA developed a modified CLT press for producing mass plywood panels being an alternative to solid wood CLT.
Messrs. Freres Lumber, with headquarters in Lyons/Oregon, USA, developed the „mass plywood panel“ in association with the Oregon State University as per the specifications for „structural cross laminated timber“ given by ANSI/ APA and obtained a patent for this system.
At the beginning of this year MINDA successfully put the Timber Press X 337 into operation. This press allows the production of MPP panels up to 12 ft. x 48 ft. and up to 24 inch in thickness. 32 m³ mass plywood panels can be produced in one press cycle which lasts 50 minutes. The producer uses MUF glue. A multi-track feeding of the press is possible.
